I was browsing through some old files, folders and notebooks earlier and found a few of my old poems that I wrote in high school. Figured I would share. Please keep in mind these were written nearly 14 years ago. God that long already? I feel old. Anyway, here we go!

Wait a tick..reading these over I am not sure I want to share. Kind of embarassed. :3

Oh well. Sharing anyway.

God this is so fucking embarassing...

The Beast

It is a faux shell,
Something to hide out truth.
We become the Beast,
The Beast within us all.
There is no other way to be.
Why show your true self,
When others only cause you pain?

Dig the knife a little deeper,
I can't feel the pain.
I'm dead inside.
I've become the Beast,
The Beast within us all.

Tell me your fears,
And I will make them real.
Show me your treachery,
And you will never forget my face.

Dig the knife a little deeper,
I can't feel the pain.
I'm dead inside.
I've become the Beast,
The Beast within us all.

This one is a bit more meaningful. I wrote this after the death of one of my best friends and cousin Eliza. She was killed at 18 in a car accident and her passing had left me virtually shattered for a long time.

To Eliza: 9/10/1985 - 6/16/2004

You were like a sister,
always there.
Now you're gone,
this isn't fair.
I'm trapped inside,
all alone.
Forever missing something inside of me.
forever lost.
Where must I flee?
My dear friend,
how can this be?
Forever gone,
you were my key.
Why must it be this way?
Why must you lay in a darkened grave?

You were like a sister
always there.
Now you're gone,
this isn't fair.
I can sense the truth,
but it's not right.
Can't you help me through this fight?
I know the truth,
i want to cry.
Why did He do this?
why did you have to die?

You were like a sister,
always there.
Now you're gone,
this isn't fair.
I feel alone,
trapped inside,
stranded in this solitude.
Why must life be this crude?
Even though you're gone,
i will remember you everytime I see the dawn.

M'kay those are the only two I am willing to share. The others are a bit too...embarassing. Not "emo" exactly, but corny..at least from my opinion. -_-
